My name is Hilary Robson and I live with my family in the Scottish Borders. (Near Kelso)
My husband and I have been blessed with 4 lovely children, Jennie being the eldest(14), Rosie(13) and then Susanna(10) and Hunter(3).
I used to work for The Scotsman Publications in Edinburgh before having our children, but felt I wanted to re train in a career involving children and babies. By chance, I read an article about a Doula – it sounded like my perfect job!
I loved being pregnant and having babies and I hope my enthusiasm for it will put a new mother at ease.
I was very lucky to be surrounded by family when I had my babies, I have a wonderful Mother who used to bring meals, go for walks with either the siblings or the newest arrival, send me for rests and generally just be there for me. I know I would have found the whole experience much more daunting if I had not had this support and this is the main reason I trained to be a Doula, I would like to do this for other mothers.
To know that there will be help available if needed is a wonderful feeling.
This then led on to an interest in the benefits of baby massage and consequently I am now a fully qualified Baby Massage Instructor trained by The Scottish School of Baby Massage!
(A course run for Health Professionals only)
I have trained to be a Doula with Nurturing Birth and am a member of The Scottish Doula Network.
(I am also Chairperson for the local committee of Children 1st (formally RSPCC,) a Warranted Guider, Relief Playgroup leader, etc.!)

"Before becoming a mother I had a hundred theories on how to bring up children. Now I have 7 children and only one theory ; Love them, especially when they least deserve to be loved"
